    1. DayDream

    Kicking off this list is the official Daydream app. Now, this is only going to be useful for those that have a Daydream View headset as well as those who have a Pixel or Pixel XL, but it’s definitely an app you’ll want if you fall into those categories. Through this app you can configure the Daydream View headset as well as cycle through and browse the different apps that you can install which work with the headset.

    2. Yahoo view

    This, the latest in video trending apps, is worth having on your phone for one main reason. The free Android app allows you to see short clips from some of your favourite shows, trending videos, and even some full-length cartoons to boot.

    Yahoo View is 100% free, but any savvy tech user will know that many of the so-called ‘clips’ are actually just ads for shows you can pay to watch. Still, if you want an entertaining video platform, this is an easy option.

    3. Giphy

    Have you ever dreamt about turning your photos into GIFs? Um, well no, me neither… but still it’s a nice idea. Here’s a free Android app that allows you to do just that in seconds. Once you’ve taken a few quick snaps with the cam, you can turn the series into a moving GIF. What’s more, Giphy Cam allows you to add stickers, text, and even effects to the finished product. Nice.

    Sick of having a picture of your dog as your phone background? Well, Google has just released their latest, new Android app – Wallpaper. This is very much an app that does what it says on the tin. The easy-to-use platform allows you to browse an array of fancy backgrounds for your mobile device.

    From impressively dramatic cityscapes to abstract photography, there’s certain to be something to suit your taste and your phone. Plus, if you fancy having a different background every day (but, why?!), you can choose your fave category and the app will change your wallpaper each morning.

    5. Adobe Photoshop Sketch

    For the artists and graphic designers out there, the new Photoshop Sketch application can be a very useful tool. To make full use of it you’ll need to have an Adobe Creative Cloud account, but those are free to set up. You can utilize multiple different drawing tools and if you need to work from your PC for a little more power, you can easily transfer the content and all layers to Photoshop CC or Illustrator CC.

    6. Home Workout Personal Trainer

    As the days get darker, earlier and earlier, you’re less and less likely to get off to the gym. I don’t want to sound like a nag but… Keeping fit is absolutely essential, especially during the winter months. Both your mental and physical fitness levels will benefit from a little exercise – even when it’s the very last thing you feel like doing.

    That’s where Home Workout Personal Trainer comes in. This free Android app is packed with step-by-step workout routines that pretty much anyone can do at home. You can choose your fitness level and what you hope to achieve from your exercise plan before you begin.

    The name should give this one away, as it’s the official YouTube application for the Daydream VR platform, which will be accessible first from Google’s Daydream View headset that has just recently launched. All your favorite YouTube content is here, complete with 360-degree videos and the app automatically keeps things centered and right in front of you so even if you’re leaning back you can enjoy what you’re watching without missing any detail.

    As opposed to an app for reading books, Readfeed is an app that focuses on having discussions about books. It offers up a whole social community for people to talk about their favorite books as well as post pictures of books they may currently be reading, and it even has a book search feature that supports searching by author, ISBN, and book title.

    9. Adobe Photoshop fix

    Although this is another Adobe Photoshop app, it’s different from Sketch which focuses on sketching new artwork and designs. Instead Photoshop Fix is all about allowing you to apply easy and on the go touches to your images, and any changes or fixes you make can be continued on PC in Photoshop CC if you have a Creative Cloud account set up.

    10. Collage Maker

    Its about time to spice up your photography skills? Are your pictures looking a little… boring? If you’re screaming ‘Yes!’ right now, you should probably go ahead and download Collage Maker.

    This free Android app allows you to make mini collages (hence the name) out of your pictures. There’s a load of different layouts from which to choose and once you’re done, you can save the collages as images on your phone. You can then upload them to any social media site you may choose… But let’s be honest, it’s gonna be Insta!
