Some Google Pixel owners are reporting battery issues with the phone, claiming that it's automatically shutting down around the 30% marker.
A Reddit user who goes by the alias of vrski_15 claims that, in the last five days, the phone has, twice, shut down automatically while he was doing something. This was while the phone was in between 35% and 25% battery life. Under normal conditions, you should be able to get, at minimum, another two hours of use out of the phone.
Here's his full report on the problem:
“Twice in last 5 days, has the phone shutdown abruptly while I am in middle of something. In both instances, battery was between 25-35%, and the phone under normal conditions should have lasted for atleast next 3-4 hours.”
vrski_15 later came back to the post, claiming it happened for a third time.
He isn't the only one reporting the problem, though. Plenty of other Google Pixel owners are posting in the comments claiming the same issue. There are other posts around the /r/GooglePixel subreddit reporting the same thing as well.
On the bright side, it looks like Google is aware of the issue. According to Google's AOSP Issue Tracker, the development team has been made aware of the problem. Multiple reports of the battery problem have been merged into a single “issue,” which the development team should have a fix for (hopefully) soon.
