Apple Watch Series 3 Rumour Specs Includes Cellular Connectivity

According to a report from Bloomberg, it seems that Apple could finally be introducing cellular connectivity to the Apple Watch with the third-generation model. This means that Apple Watch Series 3 owners can subscribe to a data plan from a carrier and use that data plan to connect to the internet. By cutting the cord, Apple Watch users won't necessarily have to rely so heavily on the iPhone anymore.

It is unclear how this will work, but if Apple's cellular iPads are any indication, there will be an embedded SIM that users can then choose which carrier they want to use. The report from Bloomberg claims that Intel will be supplying the LTE modems (not surprising given Apple's spat with Qualcomm).

In addition to cellular connectivity, a recent rumor has even suggested that the Apple Watch Series 3 could feature a new form factor, which perhaps might be welcome given that Apple has stuck to the same design for the past two generations. In terms of launch, we have heard that it could be launched this fall where it will most likely be launched alongside the new iPhones.
